2007 Hotter N Hell Bike Ride

Wichita Falls, TX

100 Miles, 5 hours 35 minutes, Average Speed 17.9mph
Hotter N Hell is the largest Bike Ride in Texas, usually 13,000+ riders come from all over the country to ride in this event. This was the second year I've done this ride. I completed the whole 100 mile route. Temperature high was 97 degrees.

Here I am waiting with about 80 other PBA members to enter the tour behind the USCF Racers that are coming up fast behind the motorcycles in the picture

We are off as a group, unfortunately we scattered pretty quickly and were not able to maintain this pack.

Here are some rolling hills in Wichita Falls

There were two helicopters patroling the route

Ahh my first rest stop (20 mile marker). Time to refill the water bottles and eat some bananas and cookies.

Better lift some weights to get ready for the next 80 miles!

Strawberries, Pineapple, Bananas, unfortunately someone forgot the mixer!

A train passes by our route

Electra TX, small town outside of Wichita Falls

One of the rest stops is here in Electra (30 mile), I didn't stop but was able to meet up with Jeff from the PBA

50 Mile Rest Stop!

I'm going strong even after 50 miles

Burkburnett TX, another small town outside of Wichita Falls

A dog happily watches (and chases) the riders in Burkburnett

Ahh the infamous Hells Gates, only 100 miler riders see this junction!

I'm made it 70 miles at this point. I'm going thru a water bottle every 10 miles, thats 240 oz for the whole trip

Downtown Wichita Falls in the distances, only 2 miles left!

The finish line!! 100 miles accomplished
